H.E.D.

I know it has been a while but I thought I would catch everyone up on the last few months around our house. As you all know we've had one sick kid on our hands. I'm proud to announce we have a HEALTHY baby today. We fortunately were recommended to an amazing doctor (Dr. Kyle) who referred us to a specialist in the medical center (Dr. Bree). After our first visit to Dr. Bree's office she suspected Jackson had a genetic disorder called Hypohydrotic Ectodermal Dysplasia. After genetic testing and a long wait period, it has been confirmed that Jackson does have Ectodermal Dysplasia. I think we are glad to know that there is a reason our son has been sick. This basically means that Jackson was born without sweat glands so the main risk is he can over heat easily and his body temperatures are elevated often. There is no cure for HED. Visit www.nfed.org if you would like to learn more about this disorder. Jackson is our little blessing and he's a strong boy and we know he will be a little fighter as he grows up! :) Thanks to all of our family and friends for the continued support and prayers during this time! We appreciate each and every one of you.

Going Pro!

Jackson has officially mastered throwing a ball. Brandon has been working with him and this is a quick video of Jackson throwing a plastic golf ball. :)

Moulton Mini Vacation

Jackson, Brandon and I headed to Moulton at the end of July to visit family. We got to stay with Grammie Sandra at her house. Jackson got to see his Great Aunt Debra & Uncle Stanley, his cousins Trisa, Aubrey & Taylor and Pop & Grannie.
He had a blast walking around in the country and playing with his cousins. These memories will be cherished forever!

Summer Happenings 2011

Here's a few pictures from this summer. I had so much fun with Jackson and it was so neat to watch him grow up right before my eyes. He is learning so much and getting so big!
Gigi and Jack at the Houston Zoo Mama & Jack at the Houston Zoo
Papa J, Jack and Griff on the last Sunday before I went back to work

Bop & Jack going for a ride- he loves to ride on Bops lap!

Jackson loved going to the park right next door to our house!

Goddard Greatness!

Jackson had a GREAT 1st week of full time daycare at The Goddard School. He loves his teachers (especially Mrs. Alexandra who gives Jackson big kisses every day and leaves lipstick on his cheeks). :) The only transition Jackson really had to make was waking up so early. Here's pictures on our way to school each day of his first week. He did NOT want to wake up! Sweet angel!

CLUCK CLUCK!

Jackson finally gets to gnaw on a chicken bone! I know Gigi has been dying to get that boy a chicken leg. So I was packing Jackson's bag for him to go to the lake and all of a sudden I hear my mom say, "Lauren, quick! Come see Jackson!" I told her I was busy packing and asked if it could wait? She insisted I come see him because she said, "You aren't going to want to miss this". And of course, I walk in to him going to town on this chicken leg! He loved it!! I am so glad his Gigi finally got the nerve to give him one. He loves Gigi and eats so good for her! :)

Thank goodness for Grandparents!

I just want to thank my parents and Brandon's parents for being so awesome to us and to Jackson! They are always here in a New York minute and they always help us when they can. Here's one of my favorite pictures of Jackson with his Papa J! Thank you to The Stephens and The Fisbecks for all that you do! We love you! Jackson loves you too!!
